Children and Youth at PMBC
Our young people are a vital part of our congregation, and we seek to involve them in all parts of our congregational life.
Sunday School
Sunday School for children and youth takes place at 9 a.m., starting the Sunday after Labor Day and running to the Sunday before Memorial Day. There is no Sunday School the Sunday after Christmas and Easter Sunday. Sunday School classes engage in creative explorations of Scripture and prayer.
Chime Choir
Children in kindergarten through middle school are invited to play in our children’s chime choir, which performs throughout the year in our worship services and the Christmas Candlelight Concert.
Children and Youth Sunday
Every year on the Sunday before Memorial Day, our children and youth lead us in worship! From music to drama to bringing the word, this is a special day that our young people work hard on.
Children in Worship
PMBC loves children and youth and we incorporate them into all we do! Each Sunday our older children and youth take turns participating in worship as Scripture readers. They also contribute to our bell choir, chime choir, and seasonal singers. Pastor Amy’s favorite part of the service is the children’s story – where our young attendees can join her up front for a kid-focused Bible lesson.
Special Events
Various special gatherings take place during the year for our young people to fellowship and serve together, from helping plant seedlings at the local food bank garden to roasting s’mores over a campfire.
